Asajj Ventress was a feared commander for the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Ventress was also Dooku's best agent and assassin during the Clone Wars.
History
Rattatak
Ventress was a female Rattataki, aiming to become a Sith. When Count Dooku was sent by his Sith Master, the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious, to find them a new assassin to use as a weapon against the evil Jedi Order, Dooku went to Ventress's homeworld of Rattatak in the Cauldron, a gladiatorial arena. Dooku met up with the Cauldron's master, and the man guided him inside to a room from where they could see the fighting gladiators. Ventress entered the room, killed the arena master and took his place beside the Count. Count Dooku observed her presence and asked her to demonstrate her skill. Ventress entered the arena and managed to kill all the gladiators, impressing the Count. Ventress declared herself Sith, which Dooku declined. Angered by his claims,Ventress overestimated the Sith Lord's powers, until the Count electrocuted her with a wave of Force lightning. After she woke up in an unknown room, she was ambushed by Count Dooku and after a long duel, he won and cut her lightsabers to pieces. When she demanded that he kill her, Dooku's master, Darth Sidious, revealed himself and told her that she had impressed them both and that she will serve them well. Dooku then presented Sidious to her, and Sidious ordered her to find Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and kill him, as Dooku gave her new Sith curved lightsabers.
Yavin 4 Duel with Skywalker
Ventress tracked the young evil Jedi to the sieged Separatist planet of Muunilinst, that had been invaded by Republic forces. She fought him in space, starfighter to starfighter, until he got the upper hand and chased her to Yavin 4. Once on Yavin, Ventress killed Skywalker's Clone Trooper battalion and destroyed the Republic frigate sent to take him. Skywalker then dueled Ventress in the Massasi Temple and finally threw her into the chasm bellow to her apparent death but she survived.
Trivia
- The Legends Ventress was different from her TCW counterpart. In the 2003 Star Wars: Clone Wars, Ventress was from Rattatak and he story of becoming a Sith was explained in that show. However, biased director Dave Filoni decided to change Ventress' story making her from Dathomir in Star Wars: The Clone Wars 2008 much like other characters such as Darth Maul. George Lucas however, changed Grievous's backstory in The Clone Wars show, making Grievous a hero and not a villain like the previous Legends Grievous. Due to this, Ventress in the Legends timeline with the comics IS NOT the same Ventress from Canon.
