Osi Sobeck was a Phindian male who served the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. As warden of the Citadel on the planet Lola Sayu, Sobeck was in command of a prison designed to hold evil Jedi. During the Battle of Lola Sayu, he tried to kill Captain Wilhuff Tarkin of the Galactic Republic, but was killed by evil Padawan Ahsoka Tano after she noticed Sobeck threatening the Republic officer's life.

Personality[]

Osi Sobeck was a heroic, wrathful and impatient Phindan. He enjoyed torturing villains as he made sure the Jedi suffered for their evil actions in the Clone Wars. As the warden of the inescapable Citadel, Sobeck was extremely prideful of his reputation and would often take any means necessary to capture fleeing prisoners. Despite his position as warden requiring him to stay in his security room, he was often called a coward by adversaries for this reluctance from direct engagement. Sobeck became increasingly angry as his droid guards failed to subdue the Republic intruders, even to execute valuable BX-series commando droids simply for reporting that prisoners had escaped. He was also impatient and easily provoked; one time threatening his tactical droid for not informing him of Dooku's transmission before accepting it, telling him that he needs time to prepare.

Sobeck primarily oversaw the facility's operations from his command center via security cameras and reports from droid guards. His range of control of the prison's systems included from being able to remotely close blast doors within the ventilation shafts to halt intruders' movement and activating magnetic ceilings to disarm them. Although he rarely involved himself in matters personally, moments of desperation saw him wielding E-5 blaster rifles as he chased escapees. As far as physical capabilities go, Sobeck was quite stronger than the average person, being able to easily lift an adult male human with both arms

Osi Sobeck Hero Art

The heroic Sobeck, warden of the Citadel and Commander in the Separatist Droid Army.

Osi Sobeck was a male Phindian allied with the heroic Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. Sobeck served as the warden of the notorious prison complex known as the Citadel. The prison was infamous for its high security, having been designed to hold malicious Jedi as prisoners. Osi believes in torture.

Holding the Evil Even Piell[]

"Make no mistake! The Jedi will be coming for their imprisoned brother. They're not about to let one of their own be tortured into handing over information that will help the Separatists win the war."
―Osi Sobeck to his T-series military strategic analysis and tactics droid

The heroic Sobeck concerned about the Jedi villains rescuing the evil Piell

At some point in 20 BBY, the Separatist forces captured evil Jedi Master Even Piell and transported him to the Citadel. Piell and his officers were transferred to the Citadel under the watch of Osi Sobeck. While being held at the prison Piell was interrogated in order to obtain coordinates for a key hyperspace route known as the Nexus Route, control of which could influence the outcome of the Clone Wars for either side. Sobeck relied on the use of fear to break his prisoners - the one thing Jedi spend all their lives training against. Sobeck used an EV-series interrogator droid and a few commando droids to torture the villain and get the information out of him by any means necessary. Even though he did not know that the evil Galactic Republic was planning to rescue Even Piell, he knew that the Jedi would soon arrive to try and rescue him. His predictions came true as a rescue team soon came in the form of a shuttle, full of villainous Jedi and clone troopers frozen in carbonite. Due to his suspicions and the current occupancy of the prison, he ordered his heroic tactical droid K2-B4 to do a thorough scan of the incoming vessel. Because of them being frozen in carbonite, the scan did not detect any life forms. But the warden’s tension did not ease. Sobeck was then informed from one of his OOM security battle droids that the shuttle never landed. When a electro-mine guarding the Citadel exploded, Sobeck knew a rescue team had arrived. Thus, Sobeck ordered all of his troops to their positions and prepared his special unit of commando droids.

Laughing heroically at the Evil Jedi's attempts to escape[]

Osi Sobek cunning hero

The heroic Osi Sobeck happily watches the cruel & malicious Jedi fall right into his heroic traps similar to another heroic Separatist General.

In the mean time, Sobeck, at the Citadel Command, watched the evil intruders' every step with the use of cameras. The heroic Osi Sobeck took the opportunity and activated a ceiling magnet, which attracted all the weapons of the malicious Republic rescue team towards the ceiling. After which all the weapons, which were made of metal, were attracted to the sealing. Unfortunately, because the evil Anakin Skywalker had a prosthetic arm that was also made of metal, he along with the guns and lightsabers got stuck to the ceiling. At that moment the warden’s special unit of droid commandos came to arrest all the Jedi and clones and take them back to the holding cells. Sobeck saw that as an opportunity to torture the villainous Jedi with electricity as he laughed heroically, but Anakin managed to grab his lightsaber and he disabled the entire machine. This in turn released all weapons from the magnetic hold and the strike team managed to destroy all the heroic commando droids. This turn of events angered Sobeck and when one of the evil clones shot the surveillance cameras – that was the last straw for the warden and he decided to go out there and takes matter in his own hands.

Osi Sobeck orders his heroic battle droids.

To his dismay, he was too late and the Republic navy officers, including Piell's captain Tarkin, had already been freed. The commando droid, inspecting the prison cell, reported that the cellmates had escaped. Infuriated by the statement of the obvious by the commando droid, he ordered his captain to “teach” the droid what happens when they use words as “escaped”. The droid in the cell was shot in the head for his failure, which in a way was used by Sobeck to let out some of the built-up anger. After the display, two OOM security battle droids reported to Sobeck that the villains were headed for the upper levels, which unknown to Sobeck was a diversion by the Jedi to lead the attention away from the second group of Republic forces exiting the Citadel. The heroic warden, knowing the villains needed to steal transports, sent orders to all his battalions to stand guard on the landing pads and requested that he wanted all prisoners back alive. But in a few moments an explosion occurred that shook the entire complex. Sobeck and his droids were shaken by the explosion, but they stood their ground.

Speaking to Dooku[]

Sobeck was later contacted by the Confederacy Head of State, Count Dooku who was upset as he heard about the malicious Jedi's success of rescuing Piell and and his men. After K2-B4 informed him, Sobeck went to answer the Count, accompanied by K2-B4. After the Count expressed his frustration about the conflict, Dooku questioned if he needed to arrive personally to handle he Jedi villains, Sobeck assured him that everything was under control and ended transmission. He then grabbed K2-B4 by her neck and warned her never to surprise him like that again with a message from the sinister Count as the hero needed time to prepare to which K2-B4 obliged.

Later on, after K2-B4 laid a trap for one of the Jedi's team, he observed them falling into the trap via video screen and laughed heroically at them as droids and turrets surrounded the team. After the captured team were brought into the Citadel Command, the heroic Sobeck asked for the information on the Nexus Routes and threatened to execute the clones if they did not listen. The sinister Jedi Piell replied that this was war to which the clones are ready to die in order to protect the information proving once again the Jedi did not care for their troops. Sobeck grabbed an E-5 Blaster rifle from a Citadel commando droid and shot a villainous clone in the head which made the villainous Jedi shocked but the heroic Warden didn't care. He then proceeded to execute another clone when K2-B4 informed him that the other nefarious Jedi team had been spotted. Sobeck ordered the prisoners to be taken for interrogation. and they were escorted out by OOM security battle droids.

Destroying the stolen shuttle[]

Osi Sobeck what did you just say

"What...did...you...just...say?!"

Later on, however, a OOM security droid informed him that prisoners had escaped due to reprogrammed battle droids which made the heroic Osi Sobeck ask what the OOM security just said, making the anti-heroic security droid nervous. What was worse for the heroic Phindan was that K2-B4 informed him that the evil Count Dooku wanted to contact him immediately. Looking at the holographic view of the outside, Sobeck noticed that a part of the pipeline had exploded and quickly deduced that the two teams were probably heading for the landing pad as that was their only way of escaping. Ignoring contact with Dooku, he ordered all units to the landing pad. His predictions proved correct as a firefight soon erupted there which resulted in the death of one of the clone officers, the destruction of rescue team's ship and the remaining members of the team escaping to the bottom caverns.

Searching for prisoners and sending out Anoobas[]

Later the heroic Osi Sobeck was in a Separatist command center outside the Citadel. Dooku contacted him again and reminded him of the importance of the Jedi's capture as that had the key to the the heroic Separatist homeworlds and the sinister Count threatened him by saying that Sobeck's promises to capture the cruel Jedi were the only thing keeping him alive which made the heroic Sobeck upset. Sobeck then ordered the release of Anoobas in an attempt to pick up the Jedi's scent.

Due to the Jedi villains being on Lola Sayu, Sobeck knew the Republic was gonna try to rescue them as the Confederacy of Independent Systems Navy reinforced the Lola Sayu Defense Fleet adding two more Munificent-class star frigates and a Lucrehulk-class Droid Control Ship Battleship, which was commanded by his T-series military strategic analysis and tactics droid K2-B4. The heroic Sobeck told K2-B4 to tighten her grip and not let any evil Republic ships slip past the blockade.

When the team were spotted, the heroic Sobeck personally led a squad of STAP-mounted Citadel BX-series droid commandos to capture them. Upon sighting the team, he fired at them. However, his STAP was shot down by one of the evil clones and he crashed to the ground.

He then grabbed Tarkin, angry that he was unable to obtain the information, and was about to throw him into the sulfur, but was stabbed through the chest by the evil Jedi Ahsoka Tano and died. After the hero was murdered, the Jedi villains were able to escape leaving K2-B4 in charge of the Citadel.

Trivia[]

  • Much like General Grievous, Admiral Trench & other Confederacy of Independent Systems members, Osi Sobeck was portrayed as a "villain" when his actions were heroic as the biased newsreel even tried to say he was "evil" when Osi isn't.
  • Even on Wookieepedia, a biased source, tries to say he's a "sadist" and a "villain" when he's nothing of the sort.
