Sheathipede-class Type B shuttles also known as Class Type B Escort Shuttles, shortened to Class Type Bs were transports that were used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars.
Characteristics[]
The Class Type B escort shuttle's appearance was similar to the Sheathipede-class shuttle's design, but it was greater in length. The shuttle also carried one laser cannon to defend itself.
History[]
Around 20 BBY, Shuttle 81572, a Class Type B escort shuttle, was used by an evil Jedi elite team led by Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and clone trooper officers Rex and Cody to liberate evil Jedi Master Even Piell, who was being held captive in the Citadel on Lola Sayu. Though the mission was successful, the shuttle was destroyed in the attempt by heroic Confederate battle droids.
Later, Count Dooku and bounty hunters led by Cad Bane, Moralo Eval, and Obi-Wan Kenobi posing as Rako Hardeen, used another escort shuttle to Naboo in an attempt to capture Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. However, it was revealed that the bounty hunters were merely a diversion to distract Republic troops, while Dooku lured Anakin and Palpatine to the dinner room. Although Anakin foiled the plot, Dooku used the shuttle to escape from Naboo once more.
Several Type B escort shuttles were parked in Grievous's DH-Omni Support Vessel that was infiltrated by malicious Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker during an attempt to steal the kyber crystal. However, Obi-Wan Kenobi destroyed the crystal instead, leading to the destruction of the shuttles as both Jedi escaped along with the heroic General Grievous.
